Alex Moncada
Architect with post-graduated studies in gender, management and public policies, specialist in local development and citizen participation, with more than 25 years of experience in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of policies, programs and projects related to social justice, inclusion and gender equality. She has been an instructor and facilitator of courses and workshops on the topics of gender and diversities, human mobility, human rights, inclusion, diversities and participatory management, among others. She is currently Director of Gender Equality of the Provincial Government of Pichincha, she has been a consultant for IOM, UN Women, UNICEF, FES-ILDIS, FIEDS, KNH and GIZ. Alexandra has worked in international cooperation organizations such as CARE, Catholic Relief Services, Save the Children, Plan International, in Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic and Spain.
She has held positions in the public sphere such as the Undersecretary of Human Rights of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, the Technical Directorate of the Council for Citizen Participation and Social Control, and the Directorate of Social Inclusion of the Municipality of the Metropolitan District of Quito.
She has been part of feminist collectives and organizations in Latin America and has contributed to the installation and operation of dialogue mechanisms for the prevention and eradication of gender-based violence, human trafficking, the protection of populations of interest in disasters, the Ecuadorian Country coordination mechanism for people living with HIV, the coordination mechanism for the rights of women domestic workers, and the coordination mechanism for protecting sex workers.
