Claudia Selin Batz
Claudia is an emerging public health professional with many years of experience in communications, advocacy and policy on prevention and management strategies for non-communicable diseases. She is a Policy and Advocacy Advisor at The George Institute for Global Health (TGI), working on a programme of policy, stakeholder engagement and thought leadership to increase the impact of TGI’s research. She works with the World Health Organization (WHO) and other global health organisations and networks, also conducting advocacy activities focused on the UK, where TGI works in collaboration with Imperial College London.
Claudia co-chairs the NCD Lab on Women and Girls with the WHO and is a member of the Advisory Group for the Civil Society Engagement Mechanism for UHC2030. Additionally, she is member of the Secretariat for Social Participation for Health: Engagement, Research, and Empowerment (SPHERE) - a global consortium of civil society, health and academic organisations documenting and reflecting on past and existing participatory spaces to identify how people at the margins can be better involved
Her work focuses on integrating the perspectives of communities and people with lived experiences into the strategic design and delivery of programs and policies, fostering partnerships, and convening relevant stakeholders to ensure that public policy is more inclusive and equitable. She is a Salzburg Global Seminar Fellow and a native of Turkey.
